FAQ's about being Privileged at Allied Traders.

What is the Privilege card?

The objective of our business is to provide quality products at competitive prices together with a reliable service to our customers.  The Allied Traders Privilege card is your access to our best possible prices, on all our products and services.  It is the cardholder's customer card, not a credit card.

Why do I need a card?  Do I have to have a Privilege card to make purchases from Allied Traders?

No you don't have to be a registered cardholder as you can still make purchases from us without one, however without a card you won't be able to access our lowest prices and special offers.  Additionally no alcohol can be purchased by anyone - unless they are a registered cardholder.

Can anyone apply for a Privilege card?

Yes!  The Privilege card system is for all our customers, whether they are businesses or personal A.T. Home shoppers.  We even supply other local distributors and wholesalers.

Why does the Privilege system not offer credit accounts?

By not having credit accounts the cash & carry system doesn't need to allow for the ‘minority affecting the majority’.  We feel that this is fairer than having to adjust margins up for ‘everyone’ to incurr additional cost to offset the ‘few’ that abuse credit given in good faith. 

In times of ever increasing costs and the need for everyone to consider all business expenses more prudently, we continue to strive towards giving our customers the best deal possible, so that in turn they can continue supporting local business.

What payment choices do I have?

Purchases can be paid for with cash, cheque (personal cheques do require a guarantee card), by card or by arranged BACS.  If you have chosen to pay by card or BACS your payment will require authorisation before the goods are released to you.

How do I become a Privilege Cardholder?

Simply click on 'Create an account' at the top of the page to register a few basic details.

  • Your card will be mailed to you but once registered you can start shopping online immediately if you wish.

Alternatively you can register whilst you are visiting us In Store.

Do Privilege cardholders get any special offers? 

Regular promotional offers are available to cardholders.  Details of promotional offers are clearly visible in store or whilst you are ordering online and additionally, our Reps will also have detail of any current offers with them if they are visiting you. 

  • From time to time we also hold special events for our cardholders when we ensure there are some extra offers exclusive to the event.

If I place my order by phone or online, when can I expect to have my order?

For orders placed by phone during opening hours, your order will be ready for your collection or the next available delivery within the hour.  Out of hours orders received by out of hours ansaphone messages or overnight through the website, will be dealt with during the first 2 hours of the next working day and set aside either for your collection or the next available delivery.

How often is the website updated?

The website is checked several times a day and updated whenever necessary, so do check in for regular postings of new products and offers.

Are all the products you stock on the website?

A good representation of our products are already shown or featured on the website with more choice being added all the time.  Even greater choice is of course available In Store or through your Rep.

I need further product information and / or guidance.  How can I get this?

Our staff are experienced and knowledgable about the majority of the products they have for sale.  If the product information or guidance is more specialised than a staff members knowledge they will automatically introduce you to a more informed member of the team to assist you.

Do you have a customer pick up point?

For those that wish to either leave their purchases with us for later collection or have had their phone or online orders set aside for their collection, we have an area at the front of the logistics garaging at our premises in Seaton Place where customers may reverse in and stop briefly to load their cars with assistance.

I would need special In Store assistance.  Would there be someone there to help me?

Simply ask for one of our customer support team and someone from the team will be available to anyone requiring such assistance.

Why does Allied Traders still offer a delivery service?

Although our trade is now more cash & carry based we still continue to deliver to customers that require this service and all alcohol sales are delivered.  All customers can obtain further information on this free daily Island wide service from any customer support team member.

I've just registered for a card in store or with a Rep.  How soon can I make my first Privilege purchase?

Immediately!  Your card will then be sent to you in the post once your detail has been checked as being correctly on our system.

If you don't keep in stock an item I want, can you order it in for me?

Usually, yes we can.  This is an area that we have actually introduced a new dedicated system to, facilitating a fast, smooth and efficient service for our customers varied needs.  Just ask a customer support team member for assistance.

Do you offer mail order?

Mail order can be arranged on most items.  If this is a service you require please contact us with detail of your order for a quote.

Can a business have more than one card?

Yes, but some seperate detail is required for each individual cardholder.  Any of the customer support team will be able to assist you with arranging additional cards.

What about GST?

All our website prices include GST at 3%.  If however, you are GST exempt and have submitted a copy exemption certificate to us any GST element will not be added to your purchases In Store or as we process Online Orders.  Orders received through the online ordering system will have the GST deducted before payment is taken or collected.

Can I buy Alcohol from you?

Holders of ALL Privilege cards and over the age of 18 are entitled to purchase alcohol products from us.  Allied Traders Ltd also deals with licensed trade premises and other licensed wholesale distributors .  All alcohol purchases are delivered free of charge to you.   

I prefer to always order through company Reps - can I do this within the Allied Trader's Privilege system?

Absolutely.  Customer service and support is extremely important to us, so we shall still be visiting customers who require a visit.

Do Allied Traders still operate the 'own stock' system for Trade customers?

Yes.  This has always been a very popular service and comes as part of our normal customer service support.

Can I still get my printed orders through Allied Traders?

Absolutely.  Again this is a service we offer as part of our standard customer care.

I've lost my card!  What should I do?

The Privilege card remains the property of Allied Traders Ltd at all times, so the loss of any card must be reported to us immediately.  Please ask for the Management member on duty when contacting us to report a lost or stolen card either Instore or by telephone.
